New Camera Mount

One thing I love about the community of cyclists on youtube is how we are thinking of new ideas on how to improve our videos, get better shots and keep our selves safe. From forward cameras to reward cameras, picture in picture videos and overlaid speedos. Over the years we have seen pretty much everything.

One youtube user has come up with a new pole mount that gives you the ability to take some amazing shots and you can buy one from him on amazon not exactly a bargain at just under £200.

  1. Hey Gaz,

Thanks for that link! Cracking mount, although I think it may be a little dangerous eh!?

BTW, I also commute from South Croydon to the City daily and use a Go Pro Hero 2 to film my commute! (I bought the Go Pro for the Tour Of Flanders sportive this year and thought I might as well keep using it!). A good day is when I delete the recording!… this happens most days to be fair, but I have many incidents/close calls filmed (which I have kept) and wanted your advice re editing all this stuff for youtube!

Keep up the good work, love the posts/vid’s!

    John

  2. That is brilliant! Reminds me of an old video game (probably Road Rash is the closest!) where the vehicle appears to be fixed in the middle of the screen and the scenery pans around it 🙂

  3. I made something similar with a fibre glass fishing pole (about £20), cable ties to the rack and a cheap G clamp (about £5 from InExcess etc). Easy enough to flesh out, but I never managed to road test mine as I had to give the clamp to my Father for a job, lol.

Only thing you have to watch for is that the pole doesnt flex at speed. If its under 10-15mm in diameter it probably will flex.
