The Views of a Cyclist from Croydon
What’s with all the street parking? That photo showing the mini with the door open, the houses seem to have driveways… could not the street parking area be used for a buffered cycle lane?
The photo with the Mini is at a slightly different point in the road, where it is wider and not so much of a problem in my opinion. However the cycle lanes are still the same width and in the same proximity to the parked cars.
The image from google street view is much closer to the scene of the RTC and the road layout is narrower and frontages on the houses are much smaller. It wouldn’t be possible for all houses to have a driveway.
Solutions to the issue? move the parking to else where, move the parking further into the road and put a better cycle path next to the pavement.
